EOS Lip Balm in Lemon Drop spf15

I came across this super adorable cute lip balm through a make up video in Youtube. Few of the gurus I subscribed to are in love with EOS Lip Balm. I am pretty much easy to influence when it comes to cosmetic ;p Plus recently my lips is not in so good condition. =(

A little facts about the company. The company is called Evolution Of Smooth (I guess that is how they came up with EOS?) They have all kinds of products, not only lip balm ;)

Available in 5 flavours!!!

Too bad I only have Lemon Drop.

The thing I love the most about this product is the smell! For Lemon Drop, I feel like biting off the lip balm every time I apply it on! So yummeh! I choose Lemon Drop because this is the only flavour that has SPF15 in it and I love lemon!

It does make my lips feel smooth and SUPER smoochable when I have them on. Without the lip balm on, my lips still pretty much dry. I guess this is not really a treatment lip balm where it is gone, your lips will still feel soft and moisturised. Another plus point is for the packaging. Of course you won't be able to bring this to a dinner function if you only have a small clutch with you but for everyday use, this is very practical. Why? I normally carry a huge bag to college and to find a small normal size lip balm may take forever but with this? Literally, took few seconds! =D The smell.. SUPER addictive, I guess that is the main reason why I applied this lip balm so often (another reason is just to showoff.hehehe..)! As for the taste, it is mild sugary sweet(yum!).

I prefer EOS Lip Balm over my Hado Labo, now I am waiting for Sephora to open its door. I want to get Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm (I heard it is reeeally good!)

Conclusion,
      Pros:
  • Smell really good!
  • Easy to find, especially if your bag is BIG with NO compartment!
  • With SPF15 (lemon drop only)
     Cons:
  • Does not really moisturizes the lips once the lip balm is gone.
  • Bulky to be carried in dinner clutch
  • Not available in the store (Malaysia)
I do not have any complain on this product because I literally use it every single hour I am awake. All of us need a a little twist in our daily boring lip balm applying routine and THIS IS IT! An egg shape lip balm with a super extremely delicious smell!

Where to get?

You can get this lip balm online. For Malaysian, you can get this from Mavis in Lowyat forum @ RM23. For Singaporean, you can get this from Magical Tansu @ SGD11.90. They may not sell it at the cheapest price but so far these are the only person I know having it as ready stock. If you have any lobang(sources), be nice and do share! ;p They do sell it in EOS website itself ;)

Remember my previous La Foret mask review? I manage to get the products through a friend. I am in love with the cleanser and the moisturizer and with the mask as well! ;D

My birthday is coming up in a month. I should do a giveaway should I? ;D A giveaway to thank all of you for visiting my blog(and to get more followers LOL)

First Impression: La Foret Heating Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Mask & Ice Wine Rose Petal Mask

This is the first time I come across this brand, La Foret. This is  a South Korean brand. Since I got this in a sample sachet of 10g (can be used up to 2-3 times), I might not be able to tell a thorough review. This review will be based on first impression applying the mask and how it feels after I rinse off ;)

The description of the Heating Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Mask is really interesting. It claims to have self heating properties to open up pores and clearing impurities.
The mask is in thick consistency. I don't really notice a strong pumpkin smell but the mask does smell sweet.

Upon applying you can feel the warmth of the product without having to wait for the mask to get into contact with water.

Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. You will notice that the thick pumpkin mask changed in consistency into a oily liquidy mask and from a deep orange to a light yellow color.

Massage the mask for 5 minutes so that the nutrients of the pumpkin will be absorb into the pores. Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat with cold water to close back your pores.
Applying Ice Wine Rose Petal Mask (refrigerated) after the pumpkin mask will help to regulate your pores size.

The scent of the rose mask is too strong for my liking. The scent is similar to those rose syrup available in the supermarket. The scent lingers on for few minutes, which is good. I love the thick texture of the mask especially when you apply the mask right out of the fridge... Ahhhh~~~
You can see from the picture but the mask seem to have rose pulp in it!!!! ;D
This mask is said to give a hydrating, soothing and brightening effect. I must agree with the first two. My skin feel so smooth after!

Conclusion
I like how both mask function. I can't advise for sensitive skin but if you have a normal skin like mine. This works perfectly fine. I am planning on purchasing the Pumpkin Mask. The mask is not available in retail store, you might get it in Korean beauty store, or online shop or even via spree. Wish they are more easily accessible..

Nature Republic Eco Soleil Sunblock Powder

I rather have a sunny day rather than a rainy day. One of my new year resolution this year is to wear sun block whenever I am out. So far, I failed.

I knew I have to wear sun block since I am a teenager but I really really hate the texture of the conventional sun block we used to have in the market. They are thick, greasy, sticky and smelly (yucks). They make my skin feel sticky the whole day and my face look whitish (as if I am wearing tons of powder)! In the end it will result in congested skin and acne start to pop out..

When nothing else seem to work out I found out about powder sun block. Yeap, sun block but in (pressed) powder form. Heard about it last year. I seriously thought it was a new formulation, apparently powder sun block has been around in Korea for years ;)

A little bit info about sunblock and sunscreen. Some of you might not know that ( I don't at first), sunscreen and sunblock are two different thing. The latter is obviously more beneficial scientifically. Unlike sunblock, sunscreen blocks UVB rays, but it does not protect the skin from UVA. Get more information here.

Last month, I bought a powder sunblock from Nature Republic. Most of the powder sunblock I saw in the market are rather expensive even for Nature Republic. I wanted to try the texture plus I got 30% off during their member sale. It is retailing for RM81.90 (I hope I remember it correctly).

This product claims that they are eco friendly. Made from natural ingredients. Powder sunblock are relatively more expensive than the liquid ones. I was hoping that this will work well for me. However, sadly, it doesn't. At first I thought this will be great for my skin as I have combination skin and I hate oily product. This product is not recommended for dry skin as the powder will definitely mask your face.

I coudn't find much info on the ingredient as they don't list the ingredients used in their website and on the box it is all in Korean language. The only thing I understand from the label is, this product is formulated with MD102 water (I am clueless)

Offers high sun protection. This product is great because you can reapply as many time as you wish. As most of you already know, sunblock will only be effective for relatively 4 hours after application. To get continuous protection reapplying is necessary. Unfortunately, if you are a make up girl, reapplying will only be possible if you are using powder sunblock (liquid ones will ruin the whole make up!). For oily skin, this will be great too as it will help in making your skin look matte and fresh ;)

The product come with attached sponge applicator. I am not so fond of this kind of applicator. I feel that they are unhygienic.

This product smell pretty good. Like a sweet tea ;p

Below is the reason why I don't like this sunblock. I had this sunblock only for a month and I gave up on it after the first week of using because I received too many negative feedbacks on how fair (fake) I look with it on :( No it is definitely not a bad product. No breakouts or irritation occurs but my skin tends to get drier a little bit and pores appear to be so obvious.

Before applying powder sunblock.

Applied to the half of my hand.

Even after blending the powder still look too fair for me. Since it is so fair and sheer, it highlights my dark circles (horrible!).

PROS:
  • Great for oily skin (get rid of the shine and doesn't look so mask like on oily skin)
  • Great to be used on make up.
  • Good for outdoor (not swimming).
  • Pressed, no mess and fuss compared to the loose ones.
  • High sun protection, SPF50+PA+++

CONS:
  • A little more pricey than the normal liquid sunblock.
  • Doesn't look great on dry or combination skin(depending on how dry your skin is). Gives mask effect.
  • This somehow enlarge my pores ( because my skin gets drier).
  • Using the sponge on oily skin might get the sponge really dirty and grows bacteria. Might result in acne. However, instead of using the sponge, you can use flat top buffer brush for it.
  • Might not work out for darker skin due to the color.

Conclusion:
You decide whether you are up for it ;) Let me know if you tried powder sunblock before. Too bad this don't work well for me. It would be great since our country is so HUMID!!!!!

Now I am back to the normal liquid sunblock. But this time I choose sunblock can be used as a make up base ;) Plus this is pigmented. In beige. At least I will not look so white ;p

Have a great monday blues people ;p
