ZA Skin Beauty Liquid Foundation with SPF18 PA++

Looking for a  foundation is not an easy task plus we do not have good return policy over here. I would never buy high end foundation under impulse because burning away RM100 plus for a foundation without knowing whether it will work out for me is just too painful. This is the reason why I love drugstore! They are affordable!

This have been readily available around 2009? I am late but as long as they don't discontinue this foundation I figured out it will still be useful for those who are looking for reviews ;)
I purchased my ZA foundation several weeks ago and been using it daily to see if I get any adverse reaction. I am happy to say that I get none! Skin doesn't get congested though I admit I have been exfoliating and using mask religiously!

On the pack it says that this foundation contains hyaluronic acid as much as a bottle of essence would have. Even though there is not way to prove that, the foundation does keep my skin looking glowy and healthy.

This foundation can be categorized to be under the sheer to medium coverage. It covers minor redness and even out your skin tone, just like a typical sheer foundation would do. You certainly need to use a concealer if you have more to cover. I am in love with sheer foundation because they are fool prove. No matter how thick you apply you can always smooth it out with your fingers and they rarely or almost never cake!

Try using a stippling brush to pack the foundation on to get slightly more coverage.

Another plus point for the foundation as well is, it comes with SPF18 PA++. I would not recommend you to take the foundation for granted and neglect your sunblock. As the packaging says "reducing the quantity of foundation will lower the level of sun protection" in other words, use sunblock before your foundation to be fully covered! You do not want to grow old with freckles on your face do you? hmmm???

Sad to say that this foundation is only available in four shades. However, since they are not a full coverage foundation, you can get away with it if your skin is relatively one or two tones away.. The fact that this foundation mostly come in yellow undertone makes me happier.
In case you are wondering which shade I am using, it is no 22. It does look light on me but after I set them with translucent powder they blend in flawlessly with my skin.

The foundation is more on the watery side, the small tip gives you a better control on how much product you want out.

The packaging is small and compact making it great for travelling, plus a brush is not necessary for its application.
This does have its flaws. For instance this doesn't last long. Especially if your skin is oily. This is not sweat resistance as well. If you tend to sweat a lot the foundation will wear out away in few hours. 3 maybe? It doesn't appear matte as well. For my skin it gives a healthy glow only for relatively 3-4 hours, after that it start to shine especially on my T-Zone.

Ingredients:

Pros:
  • Easy to blend even with fingers.
  • Satin sheen finish, reflect a healthy glow skin
  • Leave skin reasonably hydrated.
  • Affordable price, retailing for RM33.90 (correct me if I am wrong)
  • Readily available, available in Guardian and Watson
  • Do not look cakey.
  • Build in SPF18 PA++
  • Reasonable amount of scent. Not overwhelming.
Cons:
  • Doesn't last long.
  • Limited shades. Only available in 4 shades.
  • Only cover minor redness and flaws.

Conclusion
I am satisfied with this! If I do not come across any better foundation, I might continue using and will be repurchasing once I ran out of it.

Blowing a kiss

Excellent post! :) I've wanted to try ZA for a LONG time since I read about it awhile ago, but it's hard to get here. I love that it has a yellow undertone, perfect for Asians :)
